ARTS UNIVERSITY BOURNEMOUTH

As Professor of Drawing at AUB since 2017, Bowen has been initiating projects, workshops and exhibitions under the theme ‘Collapsible Spaces:  Places of Refuge, Camouflage and Ritual’.

Working in Sir Peter Cook’s CRAB Studio with staff and students drawn primarily from Fine Art, Architecture, Animation and Illustration, intensive week-long sessions have tested out propositions for drawing in its expanded form and in relation to the conceptual, formal and expressive issues prompted by this theme.

In addition, Bowen is lead member for AUB’s research group, Drawing: Transformative Matter - Material Trace and principal supervisor (UAL) for two PhD studentships investigating the theme 'Collapsible Spaces: Contemporary Drawing Practice and Evolving Places of Retreat and Refuge in the 21st Century'.
